1. I wish I knew. I have the same problem in Cubase when I use the piano roll and accidentally draw a note in the wrong octave. Closing and reopening the project fixes it.
2. It depends on the instrument. The Ample Metal Hellrazer does create random riffs with non overlapping notes. For example this silly thing I made. Most of the other guitars not so much.![:shrug:]( "Shrug")
