I am completely new to your scripts and thought I’d try it with Bitwig 5.2 and Maschine Jam after feeling disappointed with their script that doesn’t seem to allow some of its basic advertised features.
However, I’m not sure if your scripts are working right or if I just don’t like them. I just want to do simple Ableton style clip launching where 4 clips can play in a loop together and I can play other clips like they’re keyboard (trigger without quantizing and stop playing when released). Given Bitwig’s clip release feature, it seems like this should be possible and unlike the native script, yours seems to actually incorporate clip release.
But here’s the problem, unless something is not working correctly, this layout is upside down and virtually unusable. I can only see my clips in “Session Flipped” and this is what I see compared to what is on the screen. Track 1, which should be at the top is at the bottom and inaccessible on the Jam. And the other clips just don’t align with anything in a sensible way. I’ll attach pictures so you can see. Navigational buttons on Jam do nothing.
I’m just trying to set up a clip launcher on my Jam that mirrors the visual clip layout on my screen. Basics. If this were Ableton and Push it wouldn’t be an issue. But unfortunately Bitwig doesn’t seem to want to make a native controller and I have to rely solutions that don’t really have the documentation to explain the more nuanced issues.
I was initially not interested in these scripts because tbh, they seems to do so much that I don’t want to deal with a huge learning curve these days. But I just want to be sure it’s working correctly before I pass any judgment on it because this seems really buggy. So hopefully you can tell me I’m doing something wrong and it’s a simple fix. Thanks!
I’m also on Mac OS 11.7.10 if that helps.
