I dont think I said "men are the only responsible party"? I was illustrating another manner in which the gender/sex disparity exists, a way in which it is reinforced, and I also mentioned the widely understood problems occurring in america today, to do with human rights violations.I don't disagree with your point on parity of our societies.Indeed. We were talking about the widely understood under-representation of women and females, and the connection this has to the larger industry, then someone shouted at me about how its all made up. We should probably stay more on topic, yes.If I may, it seems this discussion is getting out of the initial point. As the initial point is very interesting I would suggest to stay on it a bit furtherAh, ok. So you are a female or woman living in the US who totally disagrees that any of these large, fiery, widely understood, 100s of year old issues are actually real eh. Ok. I dont think we really need to communicate much if that's your view as an american. Ive been here a loooong time, I am a nonbinary individual, and I have a shit-ton of experience in politics and culture. We probably shouldnt speak, lol.I have never had my rights violated, so I really react negatively to this generalization. And here in the US we have basic human rights being violated across all marginalized groups, such as females and women, transwomen, children, racial and ethnic minorities, etc, so this is of course throwing gasoline on the flames on identity politics like never before, not to mention representation.
If anything, I have felt like I had a longer leash than others who were not "marginalized," to the point that in some cases I could almost do what I want and still not face repercussions for it.
The stories I could tell... You would never believe them...
I simply don't agree with this.
I also don't agree with the idea that someone is marginalized simply because others do not want their ideology enshrined as low and force fed to society as a whole. That is basically the impetus for most of the issues we see. Not on either side of the political isle. Not my thing.
You are talking about people throwing gasoline on the flames of identity politics while doing so - yourself - in the same run-on sentence.
Am I even living?.
As a side note, I am amazed by American society and the violence of the political debate (like here, in just a few posts you refuse to talk to each other already), so it could be a good idea to open a new topic and continue the conversation, I am actually curious.
If you are amazed by the violence in the american political debate, I would remind you of the open, abject violence on the ground in america itself. Oddly, the way we talk is representative of the nearly civil war conditions that exist on the ground here. I wonder if it has anything to do with actual fascists gaining power in country? We may never know.
But, I would find it sexist to say that men are the only responsible of the continuation of the situation. I think both women and men have their part .
One concrete example: the number of young women still thinking that they should only build a relationship with man earning more than them.
This has a ton side effects that are ultimately negatively affecting the place of women in society.
But you seem to *blame* the young, traditional Women who believe they are supposed to "marry up"? I mean one might argue that you havent learned of/experienced the bigger picture. Such as how girls/females are heavily indoctrinated, pushed, and in many cases not given any alternatives (by family, community, media) to this form of traditional life. You arent forgetting about WHY there are females and women who seek monied partners, right? You arent putting the cart before the horse, etc?
