Recently discovered that I can squeeze better audio out of my tunes if I put them fully or partially thru a multiband limiter and fiddle with the EQ.
Using a limiter as an EQ is weird but actually can get to some of the frequencies better after they've already been boosted by conventional EQ.
And by docking some of the amplitude with compression as attenuation, you regain some headroom to use for more EQ!
This is what I was using lately:

Usually I use this: (which is also helpful)

But even though the interface isn't as pretty, I've been getting better results with multiple stacked copies of:
EasyQ
BuzMaxi Limiter

EasyQ has a Mid-Side mode as well as split Left / Right or just ordinary Stereo.
It's actually competitive with Marvel GEQ even though it's not necessarily a Linear Phase EQ.
But combined with Marvel GEQ, it's great, since that's awesome too!

You'd think that stacking boosting EQs would be a problem, but I'm a sloppy mixer that way.
With the limiters it works out. Usually I'm using BuzMaxi. I'm slowly making progress in getting better mix results.
