Check this out: I had been moving those midpoints up and down to get different square-ish flavors. After a while it started to behave weirdly, apparently choosing previous versions of the curve to play for *some* but not all notes. You can see in the gif sometimes I press a new note and it shows the curved tops in the waveform, and sometimes it (correctly) stuck to the flat top square. It wasn't just visual either, the notes also sounded different.
