Hopefully, you should be able to move Bitwig wherever any respectable computer geek might want to. Although 'xcopy' is not a command for moving stuff, it's for copying stuff of course.
(xcopy) That's how I understand it, but I had not seen this as an issue in itself.
To be fair to support, I had *not* given a full and detailed account of why I was contacting them and wasn't upset or over concerned with that advice.

Support should be there to support the full release, or point rel., and new user's, any matters concerning the Beta be referred to the Beta team or logged for such. Time saved for both support and user and the information passed to the correct group or persons for resolution.
I believe another Daw uses CenterCode for such purposes and that way support can do it's job and not short circuit the information for the Beta.

At this point I need a ... cliche warning. Why throw the baby out with the bath water.

Now that we have had a Faq from Bitwig ( insert cliche), if they are reacting to folk complaining of numerous Beta's stacking up on their hard drives, why not just move that and them to the MSIX installer.

IMHO. Bitwig could keep everybody happy... Re. Keep the major release as an MSI installer an have the Beta run as an MSIX.

Anyway I have things to get on with, best regards.
